WirelessNorth.ca: Rogers flexes new blackberry data plans, roaming still a killer

  • xiaoxiao · 1 year ago
My guess is that the iPhone $30 "unlimited" will be one of those "surfing and email" plans (with limited domains for the email), plus visual voicemail. I'd be very surprised if it covered 3rd party, or even native, applications for downloading podcasts, uploading photographs & videos, streaming content (except perhaps via the native youtube application), VoIP, and so on. And the "unlimited", if they even advertise it as such, will undoubtedly have a low data cap.

In any event, I'd rather take my measly 300 megabytes with my unlocked, VoIP-capable, no-contract, no-mandatory-data-plan N95-3 over a mandatory $30 "unlimited" month over month for 3 years!

    re: rogers unlimited for iphone
maybe you didn't really digg into but it seems the Rogers iPhone plans were a hoax, by someone who copied&paste a memo from AT&T. another source told me the official plan is different

I think everyone took it at face value. I did at least.

The storm just wasn't ready. The bold is going to hit home with the user base. I phone without a keyboard is usleess in my opinion. The iphone is a nice phone, until you want to type on it.

Wow those are some crazy roaming fees. I remember i had my blackberry and didnt know too much about roaming and got billed like 200 just for LD+Roaming. Man that was painful. So I got my phone unlocked and my life got easier. now i just get a pay as you go. I still prefer telus due to unlimited data. Given the advent of remote unlocking you can avoid those stupid roaming fees. I just got my telus storm unlocked and i wont be paying anymore roaming (woohoo). By the way for those interested these guys do some cheap unlocking and it works great. Pass on the message and fight these stupid carrier roaming costs: http://www.cellunlock.net/?Click=17759
