    *thud*

Pricing would have been great. Considering the $199USD maximum price, I wonder just how creative Rogers will get to get more revenue out of this device.

It's released on the CNW newswire:

    http://www.cnw.ca/fr/releases/archive/June2008/...

"iPhone 3G will sell for $199 for the 8Gb model and $299 for the 16Gb
    model, on a three-year plan"

No way will I commit to a 3 year plan with Rogers. It will be interesting to see what they price it at without a contract. I;m sure many will continue to purchase unlocked versions in the States.

    Here's a question:

I'm hearing Rogers saying they will be the "exclusive" provider of the iPhone in Canada. Is this because they actually have a exclusivity agreement with Apple, or is it because they have the only GSM network in Canada (for now at least)?
  • WirelessNorth · 1 year ago
Yep, Rogers is exclusive for the foreseable future because:

    A) They are the only current GSM carrier
    B) The new entrants, though likely GSM, can't offer the (current) 3G iphone as the iphone does not does not appear to support the AWS band. Maybe next year's iphone?
